Summit Realty Group to take over reins on unique ex-Galyan’s Corporate Headquarters

Cushman & Wakefield/Summit Realty Group has been retained to assume both the leasing and property management of  the 100,000-square foot building located at 2601 Metropolis Parkway in Plainfield, Indiana on behalf of owner Edgewood Capital Advisors LLC of Connecticut. The leasing team of Rich Forslund and Matt Langfeldt will oversee the marketing and leasing of the building; property management will be directed by Ken Petruska, RPA, senior vice president of Property Management.

Known locally as the former Galyan’s Sports and Outdoors headquarters, the Class A office building is situated on a 12-acre site.  It was developed in 2004 by Premier Properties, USA, and was occupied for only six months by Galyan’s.  Since its purchase in 2008, the facility has been converted to a multi-tenant building and is currently the home of two tenants, Lighthouse Readiness Group leasing 7,780 sf and Baseline Data Services LLC leasing 14,668 sf.  The property currently has 75,000 sf of contiguous space available and is move-in ready.

“This is a unique opportunity for someone to take advantage of,” stated Rich Forslund, senior vice president and office specialist at Summit.  “The exposed ceilings, the two story atrium with floating stairs and walkways, and the all-around progressive feel will be of great interest to employers looking to create a creative and uplifting environment for their prospective recruits and existing staff.  Work environment is critical when competing in today’s market and this building will give corporations an edge.”

Located on Perry Road one-half mile south of U.S. 40, the property is two miles from the new Six Points Road interchange off I-70, just west of the new Indianapolis International Airport, a virtually across the street from the Metropolis Mall which houses an abundance of amenities and eateries.

“Our team is excited to take on this prominent building.  This assignment strengthens our property management portfolio in the growing Plainfield submarket”, said Ken Petruska, head of Summit’s property management division.
